Tom is a HSE certified commercial SCUBA diver and has always been passionate about the ocean. Tom has been diving since the age of 14 and has gained hands on experience from diving across Europe to the islands off Fiji and Australia.
After studying a Business and Marketing course at Bristol UWE University, Tom relocated to London where he worked freelance within the television and documentary Industry.
Having Co-founded ARC Marine, Tom’s duties involve the day-to-day running of the company, exploring business development as well as working closely with the Virgin Start Up and Virgin Unite team as ARC Marine’s role as an ambassador.
James is a HSE certified commercial SCUBA diver and has a great passion for the environment and planet. He is an experienced diver and has dived all over the world from the Devon coast to the Red Sea, Egypt.
In 2011, James and a colleague established and ran a company with charitable status called ‘Wreck the World’. James rallied support for the project along with raising £3.5m in funding to purchase the “HMS Ark Royal” as she came up for decommission and tender.
Having Co-founded ARC marine, James manages the day-to-day duties with Tom. James is also in control of research and development, and oversees the construction for all our marine habitats.

James is a HSE certified commercial SCUBA diver and has an unparalleled love for the ocean. He studied Environmental Science and specialised in Marine Conservation at the University of Plymouth, gaining his Bachelor of Science (BSc) with Honors.
After finishing university, he travelled through South East Asia and worked for two years in Cambodia on a seahorse conservation project.
James is now Director of Marine Science at ARC Marine and handles all of our survey and monitoring procedures. James’s role also involves applying to relevant government bodies such as the MMO and IFCA for appropriate licenses.
